Haiti v Scotland FIFA World Cup 2026 Sunday 14, June (2am kick off - UK time) Boston Stadium, Foxborough

10,217 days later, Scotland are back in the FIFA World Cup.

28 years on from a loss to Morocco in Saint Etienne, Scotland return to football's greatest stage with a tournament opener against Haiti in Foxborough on Saturday evening.

Steve Clarke's side have been stateside for the best part of two weeks now, acclimatising and fine tuning for the test against Haiti, spending a week in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, before defeating Bolivia 4-0 in a friendly match.

Scotland then travelled south to Charlotte, where preparations intensified on the training pitch in even higher temperatures.

Around 20,000 Scotland supporters are set to descend on the United States and thousands will be making their voices heard in the Boston Stadium on Saturday night.

Supporters can follow all the build-up to the match on the Official Scotland App which was launched on Friday ahead of Saturday's match. The app is available for download on the App Store or Google Play.

Pre-match thoughts

Scotland's Kenny McLean: "We’ve had that (Hampden night against Denmark) and that will always be there for us. We’re here now, we need to focus on the here and now.

"We know how special this can be for us, we know we’re in a good place to create more memories and that obviously filters to everybody else in the country our families, everybody.

"We know that it’s all about, we’ve got everything in place to be as good as we can be, create more history and create memories again because that’s what it’s all about.

"We know that the fans are filtering into the country, we know the excitement is there, but it’s all down to us and we know that. Preparations have been amazing, couldn’t have been any better and we need to maximise the opportunity we’ve got.

"Since we’ve met up, it’s been a really good build-up, obviously a good couple of games and players getting plenty minutes."
