Scotland head to the Liv Bona Arena in Baku this Tuesday to round off October’s U21 camp. Off the back of a record breaking 12-0 win against Gibraltar on Thursday, the team head for this away tie full of confidence.

After a challenging start to the campaign with defeats away in Czechia and at home to a talented Portugal side at Fir Park, the Young Team roared back against Gibraltar at Dens Park. With Emilio Lawrence netting four and James Wilson grabbing a hat-trick, they’ll be looking for more goals in Baku.

Scotland currently sit 4th on Group B, so will be looking to make it back-to-back wins to start looking up the table at the play-off spots.

Scot Gemmill has a full squad to call upon, with numerous strong performances at Dens Park leaving him with a number of options across the field.

Macaulay Tait is now the only player in the squad uncapped, with Lenny Agbaire looking to add to his sole cap from March this year.

Emilio Lawrence and James Wilson staked their claims on Thursday to retain their place in the front line and Luke Graham, Colby Donovan and Matthew Anderson will remain fresh after departing the action at half-time in Dundee.

Speaking after the win in Gibraltar, Scot Gemmill said: “We have to go and show we can do this in a different environment against a different opposition, we’ve been before and we know it’s a difficult place to go, but it’s a great challenge for the players.”
