Having secured a seeded position and therefore a home tie in the semi-finals with their resounding 2-0 win over top seeds Denmark in the final qualification match earlier this month, Scotland will now face off against Ukraine at Hampden Park on Thursday, 24 March. Should Scotland triumph in the semi-final they will travel to face the winner of the semi-final match between Wales and Austria on Tuesday, 29 March.
Scotland have only played Ukraine on two occasions, both in qualification for UEFA EURO 2008, with the record delicately poised. Ukraine triumphed 2-0 in the first ever meeting between the two sides in 2006 in Kyiv, while goals from Kenny Miller, Lee McCulloch and James McFadden secured a 3-1 victory at Hampden in 2007.
Information about ticket sales will be communicated in the near future.
