In a game dominated by spectacularly goals, Rovers eventually prevailed 3-1 to avenge their 1-0 defeat to University of Stirling in the Third Round last season.

St Andrews United created one of the shocks of the day as Owen Andrews' goal gave them a 1-0 win over Auchinleck Talbot - a side who themselves have caused numerous cup upsets in recent seasons.

Darvel were the story of last season's competition with their 1-0 victory over Aberdeen, but there will be no cup run for them this time around as they were defeated 3-0 by an impressive Bo'ness United.

East Kilbride and Gala Fairydean Rovers were the day's high-scorers - both finding the net on eight occasions. Dylan MacDonald grabbed a hat-trick as East Kilbride scored eight unanswered goals against Whitehill Welfare, as did Jamie Semple in Gala's 8-2 victory over Strathspey Thistle.

There was a double success for Perthshire sides as Luncarty and Jeanfield Swifts both enjoyed successful trips to the Highlands with away victories against Keith and Wick Academy respectively.

Musselburgh Athletic also created history by reaching the Second Round for the very first team. Their reward for their penalty shoot-out victory over Gretna 2008 is a home tie against Clyde in Round Two, following Sunday night's draw.

Broomhill defeated Cumbernauld Colts 3-1 in Sunday's only match which took place prior to the draw.
