
Maurice Daniel Robert Malpas was born in Dunfermline on 3 August 1962. Spending his entire playing career with Dundee United; his 830 appearances for the Tangerines making him the second highest appearance holder in the club’s history.
During his playing career with Dundee United, Maurice won the league in 1983, the Scottish Cup in 1994 and memorably reached the final of the UEFA Cup in 1987, where his side lost out to Gothenburg over two legs.
Appearing at both the 1986 and 1990 World Cups for Scotland, Malpas won 55 caps for his country, captaining his country on his 50th cap away to Norway in 1992.
Maurice was inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame in 2015.
