Cuthbert moved to fellow SWPL side Glasgow City in January 2015, winning the domestic treble with the club that year and retaining the league title in 2016.
The midfielder signed for English WSL side Chelsea in December 2016, making her debut for the club in April 2017.
She quickly became a key part of the Chelsea squad and was named the club’s Player of the Year during the 2018/19 season while also being shortlisted for the PFA’s Young Player of the Year award.
Cuthbert was part of the Chelsea side that won six consecutive WSL titles between 2019 and 2025, also winning five FA Cup’s and four League Cups during this period.
The midfielder was part of the Chelsea side that made it to the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League final, coming on as second half substitute in the final against Barcelona.
She won the club’s Player of the Season award for a second time in 2025 after scoring 13 goals in 36 appearances as the club won the domestic treble.
At international level, Cuthbert made her debut for the national team during a EURO 2017 qualifying match against Belarus in June 2016.
She scored her first international goal on only her third cap with a late equaliser during a 2-2 friendly draw with Denmark in January 2017.
Cuthbert was included in the squad for EURO 2017 and made history by becoming the first Scottish female to score at a major tournament when she netted against Portugal.
She experienced tournament football again with her country at the 2019 FIFA World Cup, starting all three group matches and scoring during a 3-3 draw with Argentina.
Cuthbert won the Scottish Women’s Player of the Year award in 2019 and 2021 and was named the SFWA International Player of the Year in 2024.
In February 2026, the midfielder was named as the vice-captain of her country.
