
Howat moved to Celtic in 2016 where she spent two seasons before joining fellow SWPL side Glasgow City in January 2018.
The striker won her first league title with City in 2018 before winning the league title and Scottish Cup during the 2019 campaign, with Howat the club’s top goal scorer.
She rejoined Rangers in December 2020 and made history as part of the first Rangers side to win the league title during the 2021/22 season.
The following season, the striker scored the second goal in the Sky Sports Cup final as Rangers defeated Hibernian to lift the trophy for the first time.
Rangers retained the Sky Sports Cup in 2024 and completed the domestic cup double by winning the Scottish Cup, with Howat appearing in both finals.
The striker departed the Glasgow side in September 2025 to join WSL2 side Crystal Palace.
At international level, Howat represented Scotland at youth level from Under-16’s to Under-19’s.
She received her first call up to the senior squad in September 2023 before making her debut as a substitute during a EURO 2025 qualifying match against Slovakia in July 2024.
The striker made her first Scotland start in December 2025, scoring a brace during a 3-2 friendly victory over China PR.
