The stage is almost set for the William Hill Scottish Third Round, after an action-packed Second Round Friday and Saturday.

A total of 28 teams went head-to-head in the Second Round across Friday and Saturday, with Penicuik Athletic v Stenhousemuir postponed and Stirling University v Linlithgow Rose set to be played on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, a total of five games will head to replays.

Bonnyrigg Rose emerged victorious from their Friday night clash with Buckie Thistle, broadcast live on BBC Scotland.

The hosts won 2-0 thanks to second half strikes from Johnny Stewart and George Hunter, on the same evening Edinburgh City dispatched Banks O’Dee 3-1.

One of the standout ties of the round saw Auchinleck Talbot host Cove Rangers at Beechwood Park. In a tightly contested clash, it was Auchinleck who soldiered in to the next round thanks to a dramatic late winner from Dwayne Hyslop.

Brora’s Ally MacDonald struck a hattrick in the highest scoring fixture of the round. His side stormed to a 7-0 victory over Clachnacuddin.

Easy Kilbride put in a resolute showing to defeat Gretna 2008 3-1, with Elgin City producing an identical scoreline in their win over Berwick Rangers.

Queen’s Park travelled to tackle Spartan’s in their Second Round encounter. The League Two side struck twice in just two minutes to secure a 2-0 victory at Ainslie Park.

Sean Heaver’s brace in Stirling Albion’s 2-0 win was enough to knock Strathspey Thistle out of the competition, whilst Inverurie Loco Works secured an impressive 3-1 win away from home against Rothes.

Albion Rovers v Fort William, Annan Athletic v Brechin City, Cowdenbeath v Broxburn Athletic, Formartine United v Gala Fairydean and Lochee United v BSC Glasgow will all head to replays after ending in draws on Saturday afternoon. You can find out the replay dates here.
