Auchinleck Talbot produced a famous Scottish Cup upset as the Junior side knocked out Ayr United. Craig McCracken’s header twelve minutes from time stunned the Championship team and sent the home fans into raptures.

Meanwhile, Stenhousemuir fought back to earn a 1-1 draw with Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Newly re-signed Max Lowe opened the scoring for the Dons, before Mark McGuigan scored after 71 minutes played to set up a replay on Tuesday, 29 January.

The Fife Derby saw Lewis Vaughan emerge as the hero for the home side; a hat-trick from the forward booked Raith Rovers a place in the Fifth Round draw at the expense of Dunfermline.

East Fife sprung a surprise as they came from a goal down to beat Greenock Morton 2-1 at Bayview – Anton Dowds and Craig Watson with the goals.

The day’s other upset came at the expense of last season’s finalists, Motherwell, who lost out 2-1 to Ross County of the Championship. With the score locked at 0-0 for the first hour of the match, a Brian Graham double delighted the Staggies fans. Jake Hasie’s last minute header wasn’t enough for ‘Well, who will be disappointed not to repeat last season’s Scottish Cup heroics.

The battle for the day’s top scoring team was fought out between Dundee United, Hibernian and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, as they all emerged 4-0 winners.

Partick Thistle put in a strong second half performance to seal their progress to the Fifth Round, while Kilmarnock scored each side of the half to book their place in tomorrow’s draw.

It was an all-Premiership affair between St Johnstone and Hamilton Academical. Jason Kerr delighted the Perth Saints fans as he opened the scoring inside a minute, before Tony Watt doubled the advantage later in the half.

Dundee and Queen of the South will replay on Tuesday, 29 January as they drew 1-1.

In the day’s late kick-off, Scott Sinclair scored a brace after being denied from the penalty spot. It was a big impact of the bench from Timothy Weah, as the USA striker made it 3-0 late on.

The draw for the Fifth Round of the William Hill Scottish Cup will take place tomorrow, following the conclusion of Heart of Midlothian v Livingston – kick-off is 2.30pm at Tynecastle Park. You can watch it live on BBC Scotland.
