Scotland Men's Under-16s continued their preparation for next month's Victory Shield with a useful week of training in Spain and two friendly matches against Faroe Islands and Switzerland.

Scotland kick off their Victory Shield campaign with a match against Republic of Ireland on Tuesday, 8 October. All of Scotland's matches will be held at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld, with free entry for supporters, while they will also be streamed live on the Scotland National Team Youtube Channel.

Stephen Clarke's young side began the week by playing Faroe Islands and they would take an early lead as Lucas Weir's flick on was fumbled into his own net by the Faroes' goalkeeper. Harlem McLaughlin then doubled Scotland's lead with a strike from the edge of the box before Jack Dalziel's header made it 3-0 at half-time.

Subsitute Caelan Cadamarteri made it 4-0 after the break with a superb solo effort, while Oliver Goodbrand completed the scoring, winning and converting a penalty to round off a convincing win.

Switzerland defeated Indonesia to ensure they would face Scotland in the final of the friendly tournament. Scotland dominated much of the game against their Swiss opponents and led through another Dalziel header. However, the Scots could not find the second goal and were punished, with a deflected goal and a late counter giving Switzerland a 2-1 victory.
