The Men's Scottish Cup returns this weekend as 40 teams battle it out with the aim of putting their side's name in the hat for the next round.

The Second Round weekend kicks off under the lights on Friday night, as Cumnock Juniors host League Two Dumbarton at Townhead Park, live on BBC Scotland.

The hosts, who play in the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division, will be looking to spring a surprise in their first-ever meeting against SPFL opposition in the Scottish Cup.

The action then continues on Saturday, with 18 matches taking place across the country.

Kilwinning also play against League Two opponents for the first time as Forfar Athletic travel to Buffs Park, while another side in that division, Stirling Albion, face a tricky encounter with Brechin City at Glebe Park.

Meanwhile, Glasgow University have their sights set on reaching the Third Round of the Scottish Cup for only the second time in their history, as they prepare to face Albion Rovers at the Excelsior Stadium.

Darvel and Auchinleck Talbot - who both enjoyed runs to the Fourth Round in last season's competition - face testing away matches against Dalbeattie Star and Bo'ness respectively, while Open Goal Broomhill's trip to Buckie Thistle is another appetising pick from Saturday's remaining matches.

The weekend concludes with a second live match on BBC Scotland as Pollok host Annan Athletic with a 7:45pm kick off at Newlandsfield Park.

Third Round Draw

The draw for the Third Round is set to take place on Monday at Hampden Park, with former Scotland and Hearts defender Christophe Berra joining host Gordon Duncan to conduct the draw at 4pm.
