A one hundred per cent record in the Scottish Cup is quite the boast.

But that's the stat that Dundee North End can claim, with the East Region Midlands League winning all three of their matches so far in their debut run in the competition.

On Sunday they will face the biggest match in their history, and to mark the tie, the Dokens were paid a visit by the famous old trophy on Thursday for the latest stop on the 'Evening with the Scottish Cup' trophy tour.

Coached by former Scotland international Kevin McNaughton and former Dundee United player Lewis Toshney, North End won the league title on the last game of this season to secure entry into the Scottish Gas Men's Scottish Cup for the first time.

Starting in the Preliminary Round, the Dokens began with a 3-1 win against Tayport before they secured an impressive victory over 4-0 Lowland League side Tranent in Round One.

Up next was a trip north to face Inverurie Loco Works and, after falling behind, North End hit back with goals from Frankie Devine, Jaden Ferguson and Cammy Blacklock to set up a home match with Championship side Airdrieonians.

To mark the occasion, the Dundee club were selected as the latest stop on the trophy tour. After being revamped last season - visiting Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Dumbarton, Queen's Park, Ayr, Dunfermline and Queen's Park - the cup visited The Spartans in Round Two before it's stop-off at North End Park.

Supporters enjoyed a Q&A with current players Jamie Montgomery and Paul Sludden, as well as co-manager Lewis Toshney. Dundee United legends Hamish McAlpine and John Holt were then on hand to lend their support ahead of the Dokens big day as they joined host Craig Telfer on stage.

The trophy also visited local primary schools, Rosebank Primary School and Our Lady's Roman Catholic Primary School.

Speaking at the event, ahead of Sunday's historic match, Dundee North End co-manager Lewis Toshney said: "The spirit in the group is special. We don't fear anybody.

"We showed that against Tranent in the First Round. We blew them away. And then away to Inverurie we showed the other side of the game. We had that grit and determination to win second balls.

"Airdrie will come and play but hopefully we can win the ball back and if we get chances, finish them off.

"It's a massive occasion and even this event tonight has been brilliant for all the supporters."

Dundee North End's Paul Sludden: "There was a lot of excitement when the draw was made. Not sure if it's an age thing but I'm getting a bit older now and I don't know how many more chances I will have to play in the Scottish Cup.

"I've been lucky enough over my career to play in it a few times. We've done really well to get here and what a fantastic opportunity for us on Sunday to go and experience playing against a full-time club who were very close to promotion to the Premiership last season.

"It'll be a big test for us for we're going to go an enjoy it."

Dundee North End's match with Airdrieonians will take place at 1pm on Sunday, 1 December, at North End Park, with highlights available on the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup social media accounts.

The draw for the Fourth Round will take place on Monday, 2 December, following East Kilbride's match with Falkirk, live on the BBC Scotland Channel.
