An action packed Scottish Gas Men's Scottish Cup weekend got underway in dramatic fashion on Friday night at Meadow Park. West of Scotland League Third Division side Threave Rovers were aiming to reach the Third Round of the Scottish Cup for the first time in 14 years and they threatened a gigantic shock as they went two goals up against Stranraer with goals from Dylan Cairnie and Ross Irving.

But the League Two side fought back, with Dylan Edgar pulling a goal back and Deryn Lang's spectacular equaliser making it 2-2, before Edgar grabbed his second in the 96th minute to seal a last-gasp win for Stranraer.

Stranraer may have scraped through but League Two leaders East Fife would not have such luck, as they remarkably exited the competition at the hands of non-league opposition for the fifth time in six years. Highland League side Banks O'Dee had knocked out the Fifers three years ago at Spain Park, and they repeated the trick in Methil this time around, winning 1-0 through an early Jevan Anderson goal.

There was also a shock at Ainslie Park as Spartans were defeated by Lowland League outfit Cowdenbeath. The Blue Brazil have not found life easy in the league this year but they secured an impressive cup win with Gregor Jordan's late goal securing a 2-1 win over the League Two side.

Lowland League high-flyers East Kilbride have enjoyed a number of wins over league opposition in the cup competitions in recent seasons and they claimed another scalp over Bonnyrigg Rose. The Rosey Posey shocked Falkirk as they reached the Fifth Round last year but there would be no cup run this season as goals from Reegan Mimnaugh, John Robertson and Steven Boyd saw the K-Park side to a 3-1 win.

Scottish Cup debutants Dundee North End continued their dream run in the competition as they defeated Inverurie Loco Works after extra-time to become the first-ever Midland League side to reach Round Three of the Scottish Cup. Having already defeated Tayport and Tranent, North End made the long trip north and they had to come from behind as Jay Halliday gave the hosts an early lead.

But Frankie Devine's free-kick made it 1-1 before extra-time goals from Jamie Montgomery and Cameron Blacklock gave the Midland League side a famous win.

There was also a surprising result at Olivebank as Musselburgh Athletic knocked out Lowland League leaders Caledonian Braves. The East of Scotland Premier Division side were a goal down at the break but Jackson Barker's double saw them through to the Third Round for the first time ever.

Two matches went the full distance, with Elgin City and Edinburgh City scraping through after penalty shoot-out wins over Clyde and Jeanfield Swifts respectively.

The full list of results is listed at the bottom of the page.

The Third Round Draw takes place at 8pm, live on Scottish Cup social media channels, with Scottish strongman Tom Stoltman joining Gordon Duncan to complete the draw.
