98 goals were scored across the 26 ties as the Scottish Gas Men's Scottish Cup continued with Preliminary Round Two.

The action got underway at lunchtime as Jeanfield Swifts ended the run of Scottish Amateur Cup winners Cupar Hearts, who were making their debuts in the Scottish Cup.

Carluke Rovers were also taking part in the competition for the first time and they were involved in the pick of the afternoon matches, eventually going down 3-2 to Dalbeattie Star after extra-time.

Auchinleck Talbot were the weekend's top scorers as they defeated Wigtown & Bladnoch 12-1, with Connor Boyd scoring four times and Ross Smith getting a hat-trick.

Captain Ian McShane scored the opener as last season's headline-makers Darvel got their 2023/2024 campaign underway with a routine 3-0 victory over Glenafteron Athletic.

Pollok also enjoyed a strong cup run last season but they suffered a major scare on Saturday at home to Benburb. They found themselves 2-0 down at half-time at Newlandsfield before an Adam Forde double pulled them level and The Lok would eventually prevail on penalties. 

Penalties were also needed to separate Preston Athletic and Dundonald Bluebell, and Camelon and Newtongrange Star, with Camelon and Dundonald progressing.

The round concluded on Saturday evening as Clydebank enjoyed a big win over Fort William at Claggan Park.

Fort William actually took the lead but the Bankies were ruthless in hitting six before half-time as they recorded a 10-1 victory.
