Scotland manager Steve Clarke has named his first squad ahead of next month’s European Qualifying matches against Cyprus and Belgium.

The new boss has named a total of 27 players for the clash against Cyprus at Hampden Park and the trip to the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels.

Included in the squad are a number of individuals who have ended their domestic seasons on a high.

Andy Robertson is set to feature in the Champions League final for the second season in a row before joining up with the National Team.

Aston Villa’s John McGinn scored the goal which sealed Villa’s return to the Premier League on Monday as they pipped Derby County 2-1 at Wembley.

He will join fellow midfielder Kenny McLean in England’s top flight next season. The former Aberdeen man making up part of the Canaries Championship winning side.

Celtic’s Scott Bain, Callum McGregor, James Forrest and Oliver Burke, on loan from West Bromwich Albion, ended the season in historic fashion as the Hoops wrapped up the treble treble with a 2-1 William Hill Scottish Cup win over Heart of Midlothian. John Souttar, who played a major role in helping the Jambos to the showpiece fixture, earns his spot in Clarke’s first squad.

The Scotland manager has called upon some familiar faces in Kilmarnock quartet Stuart Findlay, Stephen O’Donnell, Greg Taylor and Eamonn Brophy. The four players all earn call-ups after helping guide the Ayrshire outfit to third in the Premiership and qualifying for European football next season.

David Marshall and Tom Cairney both return to the squad having not been included for the opening games against Kazakhstan and San Marino.
