There were plenty of goals across the country as the road to Hampden began with six ties in the William Hill Scottish Cup First Preliminary Round.

Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic, making their first appearance in the cup in two seasons were the highest scorers of the day as they put five past Hawick Royal Albert.

Preston Athletic run out 3-0 winners home to Glasgow University. The University side have now gone over seven years without a Scottish Cup win of any kind.

Coldstream beat St Cuthbert Wanderers 4-2 after being 4-0 up. They now have an away trip to Dumfries and Galloway to face Newton Stewart.

Junior sides Auchinleck Talbot and Beith Juniors both progressed to the Second Preliminary Round with comfortable victories. Kemp, Wilson and Shankland amongst the goals for Talbot.

Burntisland Shipyard were also amongst the goals, winning 4-1 away to Golspie Sutherland. They will now travel to Girvan for a place in the Scottish Cup First Round.
