Biography
Martin McLean Buchan was born in Aberdeen on 6 March, 1949. A born leader, Buchan came through the ranks of local football to join Aberdeen in the summer of 1966. His outstanding play at left half saw Aberdeen challenge for senior honours for the first time in many years and although the only medal was the Scottish Cup victory of 1970 over Celtic, the Dons set the scene for a change in the football landscape with their regular league challenges. Player of the Year in 1971.
