Biography
Alan John Gilzean was born in Coupar Angus (Perthshire) on 22 October, 1938. One of the great goalgetters of his generation, Gilzean won medals on both sides of the border in a long and successful career. He joined Dundee in 1957 and was in the team which won the Scottish League in season 1961/62. The club also reached the Scottish Cup Final of 1964. Tottenham Hotspur acquired his services in December 1964, and his goals helped the club to win the FA Cup in 1967 and the Fairs Cup in 1972.
