Biography
William 'Sandy' Pullar Jardine was born on 31 December 1948 in Edinburgh. He played for Rangers and Hearts.
Sandy won 38 Scotland caps over his career, making his debut as a substitute for David Hay on 11 November 1970 against Denmark. Jardine's first start was in October 1971 in a European Championship qualifier win over Portugal. He played in all three group matches during the 1974 World Cup finals in West Germany. He also played made one appearances, against Iran during the 1978 World Cup finals. He played the three matches of the victorious 1974 British Home Championship campaign. His only international goal was scored in a Home Championship win over Wales in 1974. Jardine made his final Scotland appearance in 19 December 1979 against Belgium. He captained the team on nine occasions.
