Following delivery of close to 140 projects over the initial 5-year cycle of the Scottish FA’s Football Facilities Fund, we are pleased to announce another year of investment in partnership with the UK Government’s Department of Culture, Media & Sport.From 2021 - 2026, £28.7m of investment returned over £60m of football facility developments and improvements at all levels of the game in Scotland.In 2026/27, the Scottish FA's Pitching In Fund will distribute a further £8.14m into key football facilities identified as critical in retaining and increasing participation at grassroots level and where there is an evidence-based need for investment. These facilities will promote healthy, physical activity through football and other sports, contributing to social inclusion and cohesion in safe and attractive environments and in a sustainable way.Our investment will prioritise;
Football supporting facilities in identified
areas of deprivation
Girls and Women's
activity that supports growth and retains participation
Multi-sport
opportunities where possible - as a minimum, 5 hours per week of activity beyond football
Projects that offer regular use to
under-represented groups
Sustainability is at the heart of facility investment within the Scottish FA. Any potential project application submitted to the Scottish FA Pitching In Fund should take reasonable steps to include sustainability measures within their project.Further to the above we will also welcome applications from Member Clubs to our Member Support stream. This stream is directly targeted at those clubs in membership of The Scottish FA with facility development related aspirations. We welcome conversations on a variety of projects but as a steer clubs should see The Club Licensing manual for guidance on what may be supported.
