Biography
Ryan Christie joined his hometown club Inverness Caledonian Thistle aged 10, working his way through the youth ranks before making his professional debut against Celtic in 2013.

He won his first major honour during the 2014/15 season as Inverness lifted the Scottish Cup, with the midfielder winning the Scottish Football Writers’ Young Player of the Year award for his impressive performances throughout the season.

Christie joined Celtic in the summer of 2015, making his debut for the club in January 2016 before being loaned to fellow Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen.

The midfielder returned to Celtic in the summer of 2018 and became a regular starter under manager Neil Lennon, helping the team to domestic trebles in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons.

He moved to English Championship side Bournemouth in August 2021, winning promotion to the Premier League in his first season with the club.

At international level, Christie made his Scotland debut in 2017 during a 1-0 friendly defeat against The Netherlands.

He scored his first international goal on his tenth cap, opening the scoring against Cyprus in a EURO 2020 qualifier.

After Scotland went on to qualify for the tournament, he was named in Steve Clarke’s 26-man squad and started the opening game against the Czech Republic at Hampden.

Christie was also part of the Scotland squad that qualified for EURO 2024, winning his 50th cap for his country in the opening game of the tournament against hosts Germany.

The midfielder played a key role as Scotland qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making five appearances during the qualifying campaign and scoring two goals.
