Scotland v Israel
UEFA Women’s European Qualifiers
Friday, 31 May, kick off 7.05pm (UK)
Hampden Park, Glasgow
The Scotland Women's National Team return to UEFA European Qualifying action tomorrow night as they host Israel at Hampden. The third match in this qualification campaign follows a 1-0 win against Slovakia in April and a 0-0 draw away to Serbia.

Scotland sit second in Group B2 going into these fixtures, with Serbia ahead on goal difference. Sophie Howard has scored the only goal of Scotland’s campaign so far. Pedro Martinez Losa’s side have two wins, one draw and one defeat so far in 2024.

Tomorrow’s opponents sit bottom of the table and go into the match with back-to-back defeats. They lost 4-2 and 2-0 to Serbia and Slovakia respectively. They were promoted from ‘League C’ following an unbeaten UEFA Women’s Nations League campaign last year.

Team news

Fiona Brown, Sandy MacIver and Rachel McLauchlan drop out due to injury. Martha Thomas, Kirsty MacLean and Kirsty Hanson return to the group and are available for selection.

Pre-match thoughts

Speaking ahead of the game, Pedro Martinez Losa: "We are fully focused on the task at hand which is to take six points from six.

"That’s the aim and we want to come out of this window in a strong position.

“We want to impose ourselves on these two games and make progress towards the play-offs.”

Previous meeting

The two sides last met in June 2012 in a UEFA Championship Qualifier. Scotland ran out 8-0 winners with Jane Ross and current captain, Rachel Corsie both on the scoresheet.
