Scotland Under-16s travel to Wales for the annual Victory Shield tournament, which kicks off on in Wrexham on Monday.
Stuart McLaren’s side kick-off their campaign with an opening match against the Republic of Ireland on Monday – kick-off is 11am. Wednesday will see the young Scots face off against current Victory Shield holders Northern Ireland. Our final match of the tournament comes on Friday, 1 November against hosts, Wales.
Scotland prepared for the tournament with a friendly training match against England, played at St George’s Park. An action-packed first half saw Adam Brooks score for Scotland, who trailed 2-1 at the break. A much-changed side were unable to find an equaliser, with the match finishing 2-1 in England’s favour.
Scotland Under-16s Head Coach Stuart McLaren has named a 20-strong squad to take to Wales for the tournament. The squad includes six Scottish FA JD Performance School pupils.
