Kieran Tierney
Biography
After making his professional debut for Celtic as a seventeen-year-old in April 2015, Kieran Tierney became the club’s first choice left-back during the 2015/16 season, making over thirty appearances and being named PFA Scotland’s Player of the Year.

He was named PFA Scotland’s Player of the Year for the second consecutive season in 2017 as Celtic completed an invincible domestic treble, before winning the domestic treble again the following season.

After Celtic secured another domestic treble in the 2018/19 season, Tierney signed for English Premier League side Arsenal in a deal worth £25 million.

He made his Premier League debut in October 2019 and started the FA Cup final in 2020 as Arsenal beat Chelsea to win the FA Cup.

Tierney joined La Liga side Real Sociedad on loan for the 2023/24 season, making twenty-six appearances for the Spanish side before returning to parent club Arsenal.

After signing a pre-contract in February 2025, the left-back rejoined Celtic on a permanent deal in the summer of that year.

At international level, Tierney made his Scotland debut during a friendly match against Denmark in March 2016 and captained his country for the first time the following year against The Netherlands at just twenty years of age.

He was named in Steve Clarke’s squad for the delayed EURO 2020 tournament, starting Scotland’s group matches against England and Croatia.

The left-back was also part of the Scotland squad that travelled to Germany for EURO 2024, starting against both Germany and Switzerland before missing the last group stage match against Hungary through injury.

After being capped for the 50th time in June 2025, Tierney scored a crucial third goal in Scotland’s 4-2 victory over Denmark just a few months later to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
