Scotland Women’s Under-23 forward Rosie Livingstone is targeting a strong finish to the side’s inaugural European campaign as the international calendar draws to a close.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a consistent return to action after missing a significant portion of 2024 through injury, earning selection in every Under-23 squad during the 2025/26 season.
Livingstone believes the Under-23 setup provides a crucial stepping stone between youth and senior international football.
“It’s always great to experience international football,” she said. “I’ve been involved in a few different age groups, but the Under-23s feels like another step up. It provides a really important bridge between the Under-19s and the senior squad, and I’m finding it very beneficial.
“You’re playing against the best players, and that pushes you to your limits physically and mentally.”
A regular at club level since making her debut at just 15, Livingstone has long set her sights on reaching the top level for both club and country.
“When I was younger, I always wanted to play for Hibs and represent Scotland,” she added. “I’m really grateful for the experiences I’ve had so far, and I hope to keep progressing, make my senior debut, and go on to bigger things.”
The forward also highlighted how international football is helping her develop key aspects of her game, particularly against more defensively organised opposition.
“You have to be at your best to get results at this level,” she said. “As an attacker, these games can be quite different to club football, where we often dominate possession. It’s helping me improve areas I need to develop, and that will benefit me in the long run.”
Scotland face a challenging test against France in their next fixture, with Livingstone fully aware of the quality of the opposition.
“France are a strong side, but there are areas we can look to exploit,” she said. “They only narrowly lost to England recently, which shows their level. We’ll go into the game with positivity and energy and aim to get a result.”
The squad will then face either the United States or Denmark in their final match of the camp. While Denmark are familiar opponents, a potential meeting with the USA is one Livingstone would relish.
“Everyone knows the USA’s strengths, especially their athleticism,” she said. “That’s the kind of challenge I want to test myself against. But whoever we face, we’ll give it our all.”
