Independent Wellbeing and Protection Advisory Board
Are you driven to make sure that football is safe, fun and enjoyable for everyone who takes part? Do you have significant experience in wellbeing and protection areas, professionally and/or personally?
The Independent Wellbeing and Protection Advisory Board is seeking to recruit three new members. This is a voluntary appointment with an envisaged time commitment of around 4 days per year. Due to the independent nature of the Board, members must be independent of Scottish football which means they should not hold any other voluntary or paid roles or appointments with a Scottish football club or organisation.
The Independent Wellbeing and Protection Advisory Board (IWPAB) was established in April 2019 as a direct result of a recommendation made by the Independent Review of Sexual Abuse in Scottish Football. Its role is to provide advice, guidance and recommendations on all wellbeing and protection matters to the Scottish FA Board and the Wellbeing and Protection Department of the Scottish FA, including on strategies, policies, procedures and practices.
The IWPAB also oversees and monitors continuous improvement in wellbeing and protection practices within the Scottish FA and its members. Members come with a broad range of wellbeing and protection experience. The Board is particularly interested in recruiting at least one member with experience of children’s rights and participation and another with policy implementation and/or evaluation experience.
