William H Howden was born in Glasgow in 1874. Date of death not known.
A consistent and steady goalkeeper who joined Partick Thistle in 1901 from Rutherglen Glencairn (where he had made occasional guest appearances for Rangers in 1899/1900 season). He stayed at Firhill during the club’s early years as a top division club until the autumn of 1910 when he transferred to Abercorn where he ended his career. He was over 30 when capped but had the satisfaction of a shutout in his single intern
