Biography
George Duncan Chaplin was born in Dundee on 26 September, 1888. He died on 14 May, 1963. A speedy left back, Chaplin made his name with Dundee as a youngster and won his cap while still a teenager. This brought him to the attention of bigger clubs and he signed for Bradford City in October 1908. He missed two seasons through tuberculosis, but made a full recovery and spent over a decade at Valley Parade. In 1919 he went to Coventry City, and stayed until his retirement in 1923.
