Biography
James Bone was born in Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire, on 22 September, 1949.
Despite coming to football relatively late as his school in Stirling played rugby, Jimmy Bone was a memorable striker who had the knack of scoring important goals. His first senior club was Partick Thistle, whom he joined in 1968, and he will be forever remembered for his part in the 1971 League Cup victory when underdogs Thistle defeated Celtic 4-1. Later that season he went south to Norwich City.
