At the end of February Referee Operations at the Scottish FA organised and delivered an event in partnership with Qualifications Scotland.
The event was aimed at young women and girls undertaking or planning to undertake the Professional Development Award in Refereeing with the Scottish Football Association. The course is a Level 7 in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework, and is designed to equip participants with knowledge and understanding of the Laws of the Game of football. This includes formal learning about misconduct, match reports and fitness standards for referees, concluded by refereeing a match.
The session included FIFA referee Abbie Hendry and Category 1W Referee Olivia Crawford sharing their career experiences and what refereeing means to them, each bringing their own motivations to the session.
