Team News

The Scotland team sheet showed six changes from Friday's defeat to Iceland, with three enforced changes as Angus Gunn, Scott McTominay and Kieran Tierney dropped out of the squad through injury, to be replaced by debutant Ross Doohan, Scott McKenna and Lennon Miller.

Anthony Ralston, Jack Hendry and Ché Adams also came in for John Souttar, Grant Hanley and Max Johnston as Head Coach Steve Clarke shuffled his pack.

As It Happened...

It was Scotland who had the first chance in the 3rd minute as Adams got in down the right and crossed first time for strike partner George Hirst whose header was deflected over the bar.

However, the Scots did get their noses in front from the resulting corner, with Adams getting on the scoresheet. Robertson's set piece was only cleared as far as Miller and, although his shot was blocked, it fell nicely for the Torino striker who volleyed home left-footed from six yards out to make it 1-0.

Lewis Ferguson has the next opportunity after ten minutes as he met John McGinn's cross but, with Liechtenstein stopper Benjamin Buchel jumping in front of him, the midfielder could not get sufficient contact on his volley and the chance was gone.

The next chance came in the 20th minute as Hendry met Miller's corner with a flicked attempt but it flew harmlessly wide.

Scotland did not have to wait long for another chance though and they would take it five minutes later, as Miller won possession high up the field and laid the ball off to Adams who spun in the box and fired a low shot beyond Buchel to make it 2-0.

Scotland were looking for a third before the break and almost got one through McGinn who cut inside and fired in a right footed shot from 12 yards but Buchel parried it away to safety.

The third goal would come minutes into the second half, with Hirst grabbing his first Scotland goal. It was McGinn's initial shot that cannoned off the foot of the post but Scotland kept the move alive as Ralston crossed the ball to Adams.

The striker was eyeing up a hat-trick but he could only glance a header towards the back post. Thankfully for Scotland, Hirst was able to stretch out his left foot and volley home at the far post to make it 3-0.

After Doohan made his Scotland bow from the off, their were two more debuts off the bench just before the hour as captain Andy Robertson and vice-captain John McGinn made way for Josh Doig and Andy Irving.

Left-back Doig was straight into the action as he controlled Miller's knock-down but his lashed finish flew wide of the near post.

Doig came close again in the 72nd minute, running onto Adams' pass down the side and this time testing substitute goalkeeper Ospelt who blocked with his feet at the near post.

There was still time for two more international debuts as Connor Barron and Kieron Bowie entered the fray with 15 minutes remaining, replacing Billy Gilmour and Lewis Ferguson.

The changes for both sides took the sting out of the game but Scotland were in total control and looked content to settle for 3-0 until Che Adams grabbed his hat-trick with the final touch of the match, stealing in at the near post to head Conway's cross past Ospelt to make it 4-0 as Scotland rounded off the camp with a victory.
