Scotland Men's Under-15s rounded off a productive week in Madrid with a hugely impressive win over Spain in the second of two friendlies this week.
James Grady's side faced Spain twice at the Ciudad del Fútbol de las Rozas and led 2-1 through goals from Dara Jikiemi and Kyle Glasgow in the first match before going on to lose 4-2.
Scotland were unlucky to lose that match but they rectified the scoreline two days later by coming out on top 3-2 in an entertaining, high-quality match, with goals from Dundee United's Kai Hutchison, Rangers' Coben Fergusson and Celtic's Jacob Cameron.
Speaking after the matches, Head Coach James Grady said: "The biggest thing that we've taken away as a staff is the level of detail that the young players have been able to take on board.
"Playing Spain twice, it's arguably the toughest test that you can get in youth team football and it would have been dead easy to go and admire the Spanish players but we always encourage our young players to go and back themselves.
"The first game was an unknown but we did ourselves proud. When you're playing the top nations they can punish you when you make mistakes and that's what happened in the first game but the most pleasing thing was how we improved in the second game.
"We were brave on the ball and technically very good and I think it surprised them a bit. So that made it all pleasing that we went again and played that way, even when they knew that was how we were going to play.
"The longer you can keep the ball off the top sides, the more likely you are to get a result against them. It's testament to what we're doing in this country, and the clubs are doing, to try and get them to be really brave on the ball.
"For us it's not always about the result, but for the young players, that's all they want to talk about. They left everything out on the pitch and they really earned the result."
