Kazakhstan U21 v Scotland U21
UEFA Under-21 EURO 2025 Qualifier
Tuesday, 15 October - kick-off 5pm (UK time)
Almaty Ortalyk Stadion, Almaty, Kazakhstan

Scot Gemmill has named his squad as Scotland Under-21s prepare for a huge October double header against Belgium and Kazakhstan.

Scotland currently sit second in Group B as the Under-21s aim to qualify for next summer's UEFA EURO 2025 Finals in Slovakia.

With Belgium sitting in third, behind Scotland on goal difference, the race for qualification is finely poised going into next Friday's clash at Tynecastle Park in Edinburgh.

That match will be streamed live on the Scotland National Team Youtube Channel, while tickets for the game can still be purchased here

Following that game, Scotland make the long journey to Almaty to as their Group B campaign concludes away to Kazakhstan.

Scot Gemmill is able to welcome back Connor Barron and Josh Doig, who were both included in the Scotland Men's A squad in the September window.

Max Johnston was also with the senior squad last month, though he returned to play for the Under-21s against Malta and he is back in the Under-21 squad this time as well.

There is also a welcome return for midfielder Lewis Fiorini who has missed the last two camps through injury.

Fellow midfielders Lennon Miller and David Watson scored two goals apiece for their clubs at the weekend and they are both included in the squad as well.

Sheffield United striker Ryan Oné is promoted from the Under-19s as the sole first-time call-up.

Gemmill has suffered a significant blow, however, with the news that regular number one Cieran Slicker has been ruled out of the squad with an injury.

He joins Kieron Bowie, Ibane Bowat and Liam Morrison on the list of injury absentees, while Ben Doak is once again included in Steve Clarke's senior squad.
