Gibraltar v Scotland
UEFA Under-21 Championship Qualifying
Saturday, 15 November 2025 (6:00pm kick-off, UK time)
Europa Point Stadium, Gibraltar

Scotland are on the road as they travel to the Europa Point Stadium in Gibraltar for Matchday 5 of the UEFA EURO 2027 Qualifiers.

Scot Gemmill’s side then head back to Lanarkshire for the second time in this campaign as they face Bulgaria at Fir Park in Motherwell on Tuesday 18 November, kick-off at 5:30pm. Tickets for Fir Park are still available here, while Scotland Supporters Club (SSC) members go free.

Scotland’s last qualifying matches in October were drama-filled, with a record breaking 12-0 defeat of Gibraltar at Dens Park, before a chaotic 3-3 draw in Baku which saw three red cards in the game, with the Young Team finishing with 9-men and a last-minute equaliser from Samuel Cleall-Harding.

Scotland currently sit 4th in Group B behind Portugal, Czechia and Bulgaria, having posted one win, one draw and two losses, and will be looking to move up the qualification group in the next two fixtures against Gibraltar and Bulgaria.

Team News

Scot Gemmill had three call-offs from his initial squad as Rory Mahady, Matthew Anderson and Daniel Kelly dropped out, to be replaced by Ipswich Town’s Woody Williamson and Ryan Carr, Aberdeen’s Dylan Lobban and Dunfermline Athletic’s Andrew Tod and Barney Stewart. Dire Mebude and Jeremiah Mullen are also suspended against Gibraltar after red cards in Baku.

Rory Wilson returns to the Under-21 set-up for the first-time since playing against Malta in October 2023, looking to add to his impressive scoring record at Under-19 and Under-17 levels for Scotland.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Ethan Sutherland has also been drafted in to his first Scotland U21 squad. The young winger made the move from St. Mirren in August 2024 and has been a regular in their Premier League 2 side, netting twice this season.

Taylor Steven is another Under-21 debutant, and will be looking to bring his impressive form from the Scottish Championship to the Scotland side, grabbing a goal and an assist against Ross County last weekend.

Pre-match thoughts

Scotland Under-21 Manager Scot Gemmill had this to say ahead of the game.

“We’re expecting a real challenge from Gibraltar, and it is important we approach the game with the correct mindset. It will be a very different game here in Gibraltar compared to the match in Dundee where we performed to a high-level.

I was really pleased with the attacking intent shown in Dundee, but also the team’s attitude in how they approached the game and we’ll be looking to ensure we face this tie in the same manner.”
