Pre-tournament Thoughts

Head Coach Michael McArdle: "As a coaching group, we are immensely proud to be leading this squad into the UEFA European Women’s Under-17’s Round One qualifiers. This is a fantastic opportunity for this talented and hard-working group of players to show what they’re capable of.

"It will be a great test for the squad, who have welcomed 11 new players to the group, and have performed very well over the course of the last year. Iceland, Northern Ireland and Poland will offer very different challenges in each game, but we will be ready to compete.

"The preparation has been underway for this qualification cycle for some time and the work that Pauline MacDonald did with this group prior to her departure cannot be underestimated. The players themselves have also worked tirelessly on and off the pitch to be the best version of themselves.

"This age group were one result away from potential European qualification during the last cycle and this time they want to go that step further. Last year, this group was a very young Under-17s side and now we have the benefit of another 12 months of coaching with national team staff and vital experience at club level with some players breaking into first team football.

" As a group - players, coaches and staff – we are all extremely proud to represent our clubs and Scotland and we will be doing everything we can to secure qualification. To do that, it’s vital we get off to a strong start in this group."

How to Watch the Match
