From homecomings to new adventures abroad, the summer transfer window saw a number of Scotland internationals make moves to fresh surroundings.

Following the close of the Men’s Summer Transfer Window on Monday, 1 September across Scotland, England, Italy and other major European leagues we recap the confirmed moves for your Scotland National Team players, from Kieran Tierney's return to Celtic, to Sam Kerr swapping Bayern Munich for Liverpool.

This update gives supporters a snapshot of where members of the Scotland squad will be playing their club football before the World Cup Qualifying campaign begins in September.

Lennon Miller made a much anticipated move to Serie A, joining Udinese for a fee that will be a club-record sale for Motherwell. Lennon joins a number of Scottish players playing their football in Italy at the moment, as documented in our feature-length documentary, Forza Scozia.

Ben Gannon-Doak, meanwhile, has so far garnered the largest transfer fee of Scottish players this Summer, joining Bournemouth from Liverpool in a £25 million deal.

Kieran Tierney - who won his 50th Scotland cap in the recent match against Iceland - has returned north of the border after six years with Arsenal in the Premier League, rejoining his former club Celtic. He will once again wear the number 63 shirt he first donned between 2015 and 2019.

Fresh from making his international bow in the friendly against Liechtenstein in June, goalkeeper Ross Doohan has signed for Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic.

One player who has left Celtic is Greg Taylor, who exited following the expiry of his contract to join Greek Super League side PAOK for a fresh challenge abroad.

Defender Scott McKenna continues his European journey, joining Dinamo Zagreb to add the Croatian Football League to his CV after spells in the Danish Superliga and La Liga.

Dom Hyam was another centre-back on the move, heading to Ryan Reynolds and Ryan McElheney's Wrexham team, leaving Blackburn Rovers in the process.

Fellow centre-back, Grant Hanley, has also been on the move, signing for Hibernian on free transfer after leaving Birmingham City at the end of their promotion-winning campaign last season.

Further afield, Ryan Porteous has sealed a transfer from Watford to LAFC, where he will line-up alongside the likes of Son Heung-Min and Hugo Lloris.

Clubs in the women’s game have a slightly longer transfer window, with the SWPL window closing on Tuesday, 9 September - five days after the Women’s Super League deadline in England.

Chelsea Cornet became the first Scotland Women’s National Team player to secure a move this summer, leaving Rangers for Birmingham City shortly after lifting the Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup for a second consecutive season.

Her Rangers midfield partner Kirsty MacLean has joined Liverpool, linking up again with Sam Kerr following the latter’s permanent move from Rangers to the Merseyside club. The pair join Jenna Clark, who signed for Liverpool two years ago.

Jamie-Lee Napier and Amy Rodgers have departed Bristol City, with Napier heading to Crystal Palace in the capital and Rodgers joining Nottingham Forest.

Rodgers will reunite with fellow Scotland international Kirsty Smith at Forest following her move from West Ham United. Napier, meanwhile, will be joined at Crystal Palace by Emma Watson, who completed a loan move from Manchester United.

After five seasons at Leicester City and previous spells in the German FrauenBundesliga and Women’s Super League, Sophie Howard has signed for Serie A side Como, marking her first venture into Italian football.

Eartha Cumings, meanwhile, has returned to the WSL, signing for Manchester City from FC Rosengård, where she won the Damallsvenskan in 2024.
