Biography
John Anderson was born in Barrhead on 8 December 1929. He died on 22 August 2001.
A goalkeeper at Leicester City he won his only cap in Finland in Scotland's final preparation match for the 1954 World Cup Finals. Although named in the squad for the finals as understudy to Fred Martin he did not travel, as Scotland chose only to take 13 players to Switzerland. He began his career with junior side Arthurlie and moved to Leicester City in December 1948. He had a successful decade at Filbert Street.
