Biography
Alexander Archibald was born in Aberdour (Fife) on 6 September 1897. He died in November 1946.
An outside right, his first senior club was Raith Rovers from 1915 but he spent 17 memorable years at Ibrox with Rangers from 1917 until his retirement in 1934. Although his international appearances were limited to just eight in eleven years, he was kept out of the Scotland team by talents such as Alex Jackson. At club level he found considerable success, winning an extraordinary 13 Scottish League titles.
