Andrew Beattie

Andrew Beattie was born in Kintore Aberdeenshire on 11 August 1913. He died on 20 September 1983.
A clever left back who made his Scotland debut just two years after joining Preston North End from junior team Inverurie Locos. And what a debut it was - in front of a Hampden record attendance with a victory over England thrown in! His career was interrupted by the War and he guested for at least eight English clubs although remaining a Preston player.
