Biography
Torrance Gillick was born in Airdrie on 19 May, 1915. He died on 16 December, 1971. Torry Gillick was a tricky winger in the traditional Scottish mould, small in stature but powerful and persistent. He first signed for Rangers in May 1933 from Petershill Juniors and in his second season he played a prominent role as the club won the Scottish League and Scottish Cup double in 1934/35, scoring over 20 goals. Midway through the next, Everton paid a club record fee of £8,000 to take him to Goodison Park.
