Biography
Alexander Higgins was born in Kilmarnock on 7 November, 1863. He died on 17 April, 1920.
A naturally gifted forward renowned for his dribbling and shooting skills. Started out at Kilmarnock then went south as a professional with Derby County in August 1888, then joined Nottingham Forest in the summer of 1890, remaining there until his retiral in April 1894. He died on the day Kilmarnock won the Scottish Cup for the first time. His son, also Alexander, was another Scotland international.
