Tommy Ewing

Thomas Ewing was born in Swinhill (Lanarkshire) on 2 May, 1937. Tommy Ewing started in the juniors with Larkhall Thistle and joined Partick Thistle in 1955. Playing mainly at outside left, having been converted from a left back, he played for Thistle in two League Cup Finals, losing both of them in 1956/57 and 1958/59. He moved to Aston Villa in February 1962 for £20,000 but was back at Firhill in the summer of 1964, his career having been blighted by injuries.
