James Forrest

James Forrest was born in Bothwell (Lanarkshire) on 31 March, 1927. A relatively late developer, Forrest joined Motherwell from Newarthill Hearts in 1949, already aged 22. However, his prowess at outside right, and sometimes inside right, with regular goals, made him a fixture in the team for the next decade, and he remained at Fir Park until 1960. He then spent two seasons with Stenhousemuir before retiring in 1962. At Motherwell, he won the Scottish League Cup in 1950-51.
