Biography
Ian Henderson Black was born in Aberdeen on 27 March 1924.
A tall and commanding goalkeeper, he joined Aberdeen from local football during the second world war but his early career was inevitably interrupted by the war. He guested for Southampton and Chelsea (winning the South League Cup with the latter in 1945 at Wembley), and did enough to earn a permanent transfer to Southampton in December 1947. In July 1950 he moved to Fulham, and spent nine years with the club before ending his career.
