James Boyd

James Murray Boyd was born in Glasgow on 29 April, 1907. He died on 22 March, 1991.
Jimmy Boyd was a fine winger with a reputation for accurate crossing and passing, skills which helped him to win the FA Cup with Newcastle United in 1932. He began his career in Glasgow with Petershill Juniors and turned professional with St Bernard's of Edinburgh before joining Newcastle United in the summer of 1925 just after his 18th birthday. He spent ten years on Tyneside.
