Biography
Allan Duncan Brown was born in Kennoway, Fife, on 12 October, 1926.
An inside forward who first came to prominence in the successful East Fife team of the late 40s and early 50s, he combined speed with a powerful shot and would surely have won more honours were it not for injury (including two leg breaks and two cartilage operations). His Scotland career came to an abrupt end after the 1954 World Cup campaign, even though he could hardly be blamed for the disastrous defeats to Uruguay and Austria.
