Biography
John Bell Brown was born in Troon on 21 February 1915. A tall and dominating goalkeeper his career was interrupted by his service in the Royal Navy during the Second World War. He joined Clyde from Shawfield Juniors in 1935 and was a key figure in their Scottish Cup winning team of 1939. During the war he guested with Hamilton Academical then moved to Hibernian in 1942. He moved to Dundee in 1948 and then to Kilmarnock for a final season in 1950 becoming the club’s physio for several years.
