Biography
Patrick McCabe Buckley was born in Leith on 31 January, 1925.
A speedy centre forward who was instrumental in the successful Aberdeen side of the 1950s, Paddy Buckley started his career at Bo'ness United, joining St Johnstone in 1948 at the relatively late age of 23. He had four years at Muirton Park before heading to Aberdeen, in a £7,500 transfer in April 1952. It was an exciting time at Pittodrie, as the club won the Scottish League in 1954/55.
