Biography
William Telfer was born in Shotts, Lanarkshire, on 23 March, 1909. Died 15 May, 1986. A cultured left half, he joined Motherwell from junior team Blantyre Celtic in 1926 and spent his entire playing career at Fir Park. Was in the team which won the Scottish League championship in 1931/32, and also in two Scottish Cup finals in 1931 and 1939, as part of the celebrated half back line of Blair, McKenzie and Telfer.
