Biography
George Denholm Paterson was born in Denny (Stirlingshire) on 26 September, 1914. He died in New Zealand in December 1985.
George Paterson was closely linked to Celtic for most of his career, first signing for the club as a teenager in March 1932 from local juvenile football in Denny. He became the clubs regular centre half from late 1934 and played a key role in the League Championship wins of 1935/36 and 1937/38, as well as the Scottish Cup win of 1937.
